Aasia acknowledges the crucial role the child’s caregiver(s) play in successfully implementing strategies and attaining new milestones. She empowers and reminds the caregivers of all the knowledge and expertise they already have to support their child’s growth and learning.
Aasia has worked in a variety of settings, including preschool, elementary, and middle schools, center-based early childhood programs, home-based early intervention, clinics, and hospitals in both the New York and New Jersey area.
She has evaluated and treated a wide age range of children experiencing challenges in a variety of communication areas, including receptive and expressive language, phonological processing (i.e., reading), pragmatic language (i.e., social skills), articulation, stuttering, oral motor, cognition (e.g., attention, memory, executive functioning), and feeding and swallowing.

Every child acquires and develops speech sounds and language components differently.
The general guidelines for speech sounds acquisition (articulation) are conveyed through a percentage of intelligibility (understood by others) by unfamiliar listeners:
90% clear speech by age 4
75% by age 3
50% by age 2
25% by age 1
Language acquisition looks at use of words and grammar. The general guidelines include:
First words: 12 - 15 months
Two-word combinations: 21 - 24 months
Three word combinations: 36 months
Grammatically-accurate sentences by Kindergarten

Not at this time. However, for out-of-network insurance claims, I will provide you with an invoice containing the necessary information: diagnosis and treatment codes, session dates and times, fees paid, description of services provided, and practice information (license number, etc). If requested, I will also provide you with evaluation and progress report paperwork to include with your invoice submission.
